Hi all! Welcome to my new blog! I decided that with the start of the new year, it would be a good idea to start documenting my artwork more consistently. Having a blog will just give me a place to show my work, and more of an incentive to photograph it in the first place.
I recently came back from Florida, and while I was there I bought a brand new sketch book. I am not one to normally keep sketch books, but I fell in love with this one when I saw it at Michaels.
I worked on a few quick sketches while I was in Florida, but the ones that I seemed the most happy with were the ones I did of people. It has been a while since I have sketched people, so it was very refreshing to do so once again. I started by sketching my sister as she was laying out by the pool. She only complained a little. I was very proud.
A couple of days later, I asked my grandmother if I could sketch her while she was sitting on her couch. Unfortunately, she kept falling asleep, changing the position her head was in. Over the years, I have grown a stronger tolerance for models moving, but it can still be frustrating. When I showed the sketch to my grandmother, her only response was that I made her look old. Every one's a critic.
Hopefully I can get a few more sketches in my sketchbook before the end of winter break. It will be hard for me to casually sketch like this when I get back to school, because I will be very busy with other projects.
That's all! Hope you enjoyed!

Very cool congrats on day (or week 1) I'm very very impressed by your drawings here considering I can't draw a straight line with out breaking it. Pretty solid good luck on the New Years Resolution
